HIV in Saigon
(July 2008)
Though the Vietnamese government has been fighting HIV since the first recorded case in 1990, they finally gave green light to a large number of programs and campaigns last year, officially legalizing the distribution of condoms and even methadone to injecting drug users who contract HIV through needle sharing. These images show various people living with HIV with government assistance.

From Burma to New York - The Stories of Burmese Refugees (October 2007 - March 2008)
The number of Burmese refugees coming to the U.S. shot up eight-fold in the fiscal year of 2007. About 14,000 Burmese refugees were resettled in the U.S. in 2007. The year before, only 1,612 refugees came from Burma. Between 2007 and 2009, about 60,000 Burmese refugees were expected to come to the States. This project documented the lives of a few individuals as they adjusted to their new surroundings.
